About National IP&R
National IP&R is a process that the Australian community can use to collaborate efficiently to design their preferred future as a nation, express that in a coherent Vision, build an integrated plan together to make it a reality, and keep track of progress or failure. It is an essential tool in participatory democracy.
Uniquely, National IP&R offers citizens of democratic countries the chance to collaborate nationally on selection of the targets and strategies that are essential to the long term sustainability of their society, environment, economy and fair governance.
National IP&R can effectively ensure that the work of local communities to strengthen their prospects of a decent quality of life is not undermined by bad actions and actors in national politics and policy. It is a process that assists Australians to shift the focus of national governments from the short term advantages sought by vested interests and privileged lobbyists and donors to doing what's necessary to deliver longer term sustainability in the wider public interest.
National IP&R has been designed and developed by Australian Community Futures Planning and has been successfully trialed and tested as a means of democratically developing drafts of Australia Together, Australia's first long term, community-driven, integrated plan for a safe and secure future of wellbeing for everyone. How to participate in National IP&R now
National IP&R is a fully inclusive democratic policy reform process. It offers any and every Australian a voice in policy selection.
From the mid 2020s, orderly participation in National IP&R for any and every Australian has been made possible by giving them a framework through which they can select policies and strategies that - when included in a long term, integrated plan like Australia Together - will be likely to help them:

travel safely as a cohesive community towards the future life quality and country they need and want; and
-
to become the society they want to be - a society with security and continuous wellbeing for all.
The National IP&R process, as designed by ACFP, makes this possible by setting up a plan for the future in the form of a map to a specified destination in the future. Australians can become involved from the very beginning (and continuously) in designing the guidance system of the map and the map itself.
The guidance system can be constructed by specifying:

a vision of the future they want - their preferred destination as a nation and country by 2050 or sooner, and
-
signposts which describe the directions by which they want to approach whatever future they have specified.
To help everyone participate efficiently in safe policy selection, ACFP has drafted a vision statement and set of directional signposts based on research into the views expressed by Australians over 25 years about what they value in their lives and what they want for the future. That research has resulted in the draft Vision for Australia Together. Read about the research on which the draft Vision for Australia Together is based here.
Australians can suggest changes to the drafts of the Vision and Directions in Australia Together at any time here. But they can also use the current draft vision statements and directional signposts to analyse whether a policy proposal is likely to help them travel safely to the destination described in the Vision or drag them away from it. Submission guidelines and forms for participation in National IP&R
There are two ways to make a submission suggesting a policy reform or strategy that should be included in Australia Together:

A short submission can be made by following the instructions and submitting the form provided at this link.

Alternatively, a more detailed and substantiated submission can be made by following the instructions in the ACFP information sheet: Guidelines for using the Directions in Australia Together to assess policy reforms.

Use this form to make a more detailed and substantiated submission in suggestion of a policy reform.
